Our letters of focus for the month are Pp, Short Oo, Ff and Rr. Students are becoming very proficient at identifying the beginning sounds of words. Thanks for all of your reinforcement of our "Letter of the Week" activities at home!
The students have enjoyed learning about Penguins during Pp week.
Ice Skating Penguins

In Science, students created Pinecone trees. They experimented to see if grass would grow on pinecones with only water and sun.
For Ff Week in Science students in K-012 explored mixtures by making Flubber.
For art during Ff week, the kindergarteners had great fun making pop bottle fish!
We are continuing to practice our 2nd Quarter sight words list! The students are so excited they are able to read! For extra practice at home, have them find some sight words in other print...books, newspaper etc.
In Math we have been working on the concepts surrounding greater numbers through 20. Students are learning the tens and ones place values of numbers. Please continue to work on counting to 100 at home. Any extra practice for writing numbers to 20 is appreciated!
We are also going to be learning how to count to 100 by ones, fives, tens and twos!
In Religion we have learned about the different parts of the Church. Students enjoyed taking a tour of Gesu's Church! See if your child can identify these parts of the Church!
