Dear Parents,
As part of our Kindergarten literature lessons, we have implemented a "Mystery Reader" program. Each family will have an opportunity to send a representative for their family to come to our classroom to be the Mystery Reader.
The Mystery Reader should bring in their favorite children’s book to read to the class and share why they chose the book. We also encourage the reader to express their love of reading and how it is an important part of their life.
Below are the schedules for each Kindergarten class with set days/times. We’d like to stick to the schedule as much as possible. Remember -- it will add to the mystery if a neighbor, relative, godparent or someone special in their life surprises them.
The class will not know who the Mystery Reader is before they come in to the room, so we ask that you keep it a secret from your child when it is your turn. The children will put their heads down and the reader will come in quietly and sit in the reading chair. Then the children will open their eyes and see who the Mystery Reader is!
For security reasons, please send us a note/email the week of your scheduled day letting us know who will be coming. Please be prompt--our time is limited! Remember to sign in at the office to receive a visitor's badge.
