Music Program: Gesu School has a full time music specialist for kindergarten through grade eight. Working along with the Curriculum for the Arts in the Diocese of Cleveland, students participate in a variety of musical activities.  Students have a well-rounded education in music with opportunities in singing, playing rhythm instruments, moving rhythmically, and studying music history.  A recorder program begins in grade three.  Orff and Kodaly methods are also used by our music teacher, Mrs. Mary-Jo Widmann.

Students have the opportunity to join Choral Club (grades 5-8).  Choral Club meets on Tuesdays after school.  This past year they sang at Legacy Village and John Carroll University.  Choral Club also participates in monthly School Liturgies.  Students have auditioned and participated in The Cleveland Orchestra Children's Chorus, Heights Youth Theatre and other community music events.

This past school year students had many opportunities  to perform and showcase their talents.  Until our new musicals are under way you may enjoy looking back at pictures from last year's performances.

Students perform in Christmas and Spring programs. They also have the opportunity to participate in adjucated solo/ensemble events as well as summer camps and clinics.   Mr. Frank Adams is  director of  Gesu's band program.  He will teach two days at Gesu and looks forward to  welcoming new students and beginning to work with students who are returning to Gesu Band.
