A Day In Preschool
We Gather Together
We begin each session by greeting the children individually at the
door. The room is set up for the children to explore the various centers
independently. After all have arrived, we gather for our opening prayer.
"Hello God, this day is for you. and I ask you to bless all I think, say,
and do. "
We then have a brief meeting to share ideas about the
day.

Let's Discover
The children then choose which areas of the room they wish to begin
working/playing in. We refer to this as Discovery Time and it usually
lasts about 50 minutes. The older children use this time to choose snack
with a friend as well. Cooking and guided science experiments usually
occur during Discovery Time. After the children are given a 5 minute
warning , the class begins to clean up the room.

Let's Get Moving
Weather permitting, we head
outdoors for play on our wonderful playground. Once a week we have gym
with Mrs. Krzywicki for guided large muscle development in the Bulldog Gym for
30 minutes.

Let's Listen
We then have a quiet time with snacks or literacy activities for 10 minutes.
Small groups gather
after this to work on various readiness skills, as well as story book reading.
Groups switch after 10-15 minutes.

We Say Good-Bye
The children prepare to go home by dressing themselves as they are able, and
collecting their creations from their mailboxes. We gather one more time to end with
prayer.
"Until another happy day, keep us safe Oh
God, we pray."
We
then say goodbye to each child individually at the classroom door as their
parent/driver or grade school sibling arrives to pick them up.
Please Join Us
We value the presence of
parents in the room to share their talents with the children as well as aiding
us in the daily routine. Parents and siblings are invited to participate
in Prayer services and other special events throughout the year. The
entire session is flexible enough to accommodate what each individual class is
interested in, allowing us to guide them religiously, emotionally, cognitively,
socially, creatively and physically . We strive to show them how to praise
and thank God for His many gifts to us, and give them many opportunities to see
God in all things.
