Students in Grade One integrate Language Arts into every part of their school day. Each teacher works with her own class to develop skills in the areas of Phonics, Reading, Spelling, Writing, Grammar, Speaking and Listening. Children also have opportunities to enrich their growth in Language Arts when they meet with Mrs. Marylou Bongorno for small group instruction and also in the weekly ABC Class they have with Mrs. Jean Ann Sexton. 1st graders also have a weekly Spanish class with Mrs. Maria Bolanz.
