Grade Five Language Arts Curriculum Maps

Students in Grade 5 have a daily Reading class that is taught by one of the three homeroom teachers.  They also have a daily English class taught by Mrs. Colleen Clemens.  Language Arts skills are applied in all areas of the curriculum as students continue to develop research skills and reading comprehension skills in the content area subjects.
Students have twelve weeks of  Communications Class with Mrs. Jean Ann Sexton.  Every student also meets with Mrs. Maria Bolanz once a week for Spanish class. 

The curriculum maps for Reading and English overlap to include the writing, speaking and listening that is done in both subjects.  The work done in Spelling class is covered on the curriculum map for English.
