Students in Grade 8 continue the block scheduling that was begun in 7th grade. They meet every other day for a 90 minute Reading class with Ms. Marianne Relic. They have a 90 minute English class with Mrs. Dottie Rule. Students also meet with Mrs. Maria Bolanz at least once a week for Spanish class. During the first semester, students also meet for a Humanities class with Mrs. Sexton. The works of William Shakespeare are covered in this weekly one hour class.
The curriculum maps for Reading and English overlap to include the writing, speaking, and listening that is done in both subjects. The work done in Spelling is covered on the curriculum map for English.
