Capital Improvements
Institutional advancement for Gesu Catholic School is frequently done in conjunction with parish development initiatives under the direction of Mrs. Dena Adler, Development Director.
In the past decade the generosity of parishioners and alumni have made it possible for the school to expand its facilities to include:
- Preschool classrooms
- Classrooms for Kindergarten, Music, and Foreign Language
- New Gymnasium/Family Center
- Art Studio
- Closed Circuit television studio
- Two computer labs
- Expansion of the School Library
- Religious Education Center
In October 2011, the parish dedicated the beautiful new Madonna della Strada Pastoral Center located in the space once known as the Gesu Rectory. This facility has new office and meeting space for parish functions. It also has two large classrooms equipped with state of the art technology that can be used by teachers and parishioners alike.
In the near future we hope to find ways to upgrade our Science Room and create a larger space for the growing Gesu School Band. Financial support of these projects would be most appreciated. Interested donors can contact Mrs. Adler at denaadler@sbcglobal.net. or Gesu Principal, Sr. Linda Martin, O.S.U. at srlmartin@gesu.com.
Tuition/Fees Assistance
The following endowment funds have been created by the Gesu community to make it possible for students of Gesu parishioners to continue their Catholic education through high school.
Many people find a memorial gift to these funds to be a significant way to express gratitude for their own Catholic education or to honor a loved one with a memorial donation.
Father McAuley Scholarship Fund
The Father Robert J. McAuley, S.J. Scholarship Fund was created in honor of Gesu’s beloved pastor, Father Robert J. McAuley, SJ. It offers financial assistance to children attending Gesu Catholic School in grades kindergarten through six, whose needs warrant full or partial grants.
Father Dietz Scholarship Fund
The Fr. Francis T. Dietz, S.J. Scholarship Fund, created in memory of another special Gesu pastor, offers financial assistance for Catholic High School education to children of Gesu Parish whose needs warrant full or partial grants. This includes seventh and eighth grade students attending Gesu. . They must demonstrate a desire for a Catholic High School and Gesu School education, and intent to apply themselves to the best of their ability to the school’s scholastic and moral principles.
The Sheila Conway Teacher Endowment
This fund was created as a way to thank the dedicated teachers of Gesu Catholic School. It recognizes that they see their positions as a loving commitment to the Church and the Gesu community. Teachers are able to apply for grants from this fund when they advance their own education. The principal of Gesu School is also able to provide additional professional development with the resources available from the Teacher Endowment.
Donations to these Funds are accepted throughout the year.
