Happy New Year to everyone in our Gesu School community. It is exciting to be with your children again after a beautiful holiday season. As we start 2012, I wanted to share with you a posting I recently received from the Days of Deepening Friendship website published by Loyola Press. Yes, we want this to be a better year, but we don’t discount all the graces of years past. Yes, we believe it’s possible to be transformed, but we know transformation doesn’t happen immediately and all at once. Yes, we think that planning is a helpful and healthy thing to do, but we know God doesn’t operate according to our schedules. Yes, we value history because it makes us who we are, but we’re not limited to our past. Yes, we believe God is love, but we haven’t completely defined what love looks like on any given day. Yes, we’re big fans of hopes and dreams, but we won’t waste today’s energy worrying about days that haven’t happened yet.
