Anti-Bullying Program/Policy

The entire Gesu community is committed to creating an environment where students and teachers respect each individual and safeguard the dignity of each person in the community.

At each grade level teachers use direct and indirect instruction to help students understand:

  • What bullying  is
  • What bullying is not
  • What forms it can take
  • What impact it can have on a person
  • How to respond when you are being bullied
  • How to respond when you notice a classmate is being bullied
  • How to safely and smartly become an upstander
  • How to learn from the example of real and fictional characters who have experienced being bullied or being a bully

When an incident is perceived as possibly involving bullying or holding a potential for bullying, teachers, administrators, and possibly the school counselor will work with all involved to resolve the situation.  We appreciate the support of parents in this effort.
