Introducing Gesu’s New Family Mentorship Program
Purpose: To help each family new to Gesu transition smoothly into our school and community by matching them with a “mentor” family currently enrolled at Gesu. The “mentor” family will act as a liaison for the new family, assisting with all school-sponsored activities throughout the year.
Suggested activities: Monthly phone calls to touch base and answer questions pertaining to school and parish activities. Invite new family to attend school functions such as school Masses, assemblies (COSI, mini Olympics) and PTO meetings and sponsored events (Pumpkin Bop, Skating Party, Ice Cream Social, etc.). Other suggestions include invitations to Women’s Guild events, Booster Events (Corn Hole Tourney, Booster Bash) and parish activities (Block Party, Pancake Breakfast). Please keep in mind that these are only suggestions. As a mentor, you can adjust your role as you see appropriate.
We need your help!
If you would like to serve as a mentor during the 2011-2012 school year, please contact Pati Kemp pbkemp@roadrunner.com or Kristin Krebs pkrebs527@aol.com. We will compile a list of “mentor” families and match them to new families according to children’s ages. You can expect to receive notification of your family shortly before the beginning of the school year.
